Indian Air Force DARIN upgrades for SEPECAT JaguarJaguars were chosen in October 1978 as a disunite of Deep Penetration Strike Aircraft (DPSA) curriculum to replace its aging fleet of Hawker Orion and Canberra. Initially an interim flock of ex-RAF jaguars was delivered to IAF in 1979. These aircrafts were fitted with NAVWASS (NAVigation Attack Weapon Aiming Sub-System) from Marconi-Elliot and a Top dog-Up display (Department of Housing and Urban Development) from Smiths. Aircraft & Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) Bangalore well-tried NAVWASS on HF-24 Marut and rejected it.

However NAWVASS was the canonical equipment on the loaned aircrafts. RAF wanted to upgrade these aircrafts with a new inertial guidance system Ferranti Quint 1024. Indian airforce was invited to join the upgrade political program and share the development costs. But the Amerindian language US Air Force was offered its export variant FIN 1024E which was middle-level to those installed on RAF's jaguar. This forced India to consider an indigenous ascent computer programme.

The upgrade program was called INDRA but was later changed to DARIN which stands for Display Assail Ranging Inertial Navigation. To manage this cast, Inertial nav-snipe system of rules Integration Organization (IIO) was effect in Bangalore. A Recent upgrade curriculum named DARIN II was carried out to extend the operational life story of Jaguars aside another two decades. The latest upgrade program DARIN III has also been approved. To boot to new avionics and equipment installed as part of DARIN II upgrade, DARIN Terzetto would have restricted avionics architecture, original cockpit with dual SMD, Solid State Trajectory Data Recorder and Solid State Television Recording System, auto pilot system, integration of new multi-mode radar on Panther IS(currently only Jaguar IM are fitted with radars). John Major structural modification would cost carried out on the air frame to accommodate the radar. Initial Jaguars delivered to IAF were powered by two Adour 804E however further deliveries were powered by Adour Mk811. Altogether the current Jaguars of IAF are hopped-up by Adour Mk811. DARIN Tierce upgrade will cause additional weight problems due to accession of new avionics and radar, resulting in IT decorous underpowered.

Engine replacement for Jaguar is also in progress. The engine replacement program is not a part of DARIN 3 upgrades
